Hi all, im stripping the mini down ready to transplant the turbo lump and i was just wondering
how easy is a round nose to clubman front end exchange and what headlights can you use? Golf
mk1/2?

Cheers

You might be able to do it with flip fronts, but how about doing a mk2 golf headlight conversion, with two headlights on each side?

Don't quote me on that.

clubman fibre glass front wnd could be an option? but i think you can just (i dont mean just as if its an easy job!) cut off the front end, outer and inner wings and front panel and weld on a clubman front end, as far as im aware the a panels are the same. if you find someone who is a compotent welder, or if you are, i think its a straightfoward swap!

and i have seen a mini with a golf grille, that had the middle cut out of it so it was shorter then put into the clubman front. hope that helps!

Cheers, i thought it was a straight forward-ish swap, i just think that it will give me more room for all the extras with the turbo lump.
Anyone know of any pics with the golf front end?

fairly certain that the inner wings are a completely different shape at the top near the scuttle so it might not be a simple weld on.

flip font is possible though

Yup, it's what I'm doing with one of mine, infact having both a round nose and clubby front for it so I can change it depending on my mood !

I converted from fixed round front to fibreglass clubby a few months ago and its quite straight forward. Just the same as converting to a round flip front but obviously better as clubbys rule :errr: Used all the same headlamp bowls and indicators just wacked a clubby grill over the top.
