Hi, this is my first mini, i have loved minis ever since i had seen mr bean in his pea green one!!
When i found out my sister had been looking around and had found one for free, i was over the moon....and i still am now!! its such a dream for me to have this car, and working on it myself and giving it my own touches feels brilliant!
Anyway, i managed to get it back from miltenkeens (or however you spell it!) on a bit road trailer and with the rear wheel locked pushed it down a hill around the corner and into the garage i am using. And the mark still lays there today!!
I have been working on it as much as i can, considering I have no knowledge of moters atall, i got the haynes manule, and thought, there is one way to do this, and thats doing it. So i set to work fixing the bits that needed fixing, and with the help of friends and short phone calls to club memebers i am at the stage of painting!
I have got the car running, and fitted a new fuel tank, new alternator, new plugs and leads, distributor, and suspention. I am pleased with how it is going atm, and im not in a rush to get anything finished as i want it mint at the end.
So, i thought you may want some pics to see how im getting on.......any comments apretiated!

Looks like its a solid shell have you done any work to it? What colour are you going to have it? and plans have you got for it?

thanks for the replys, well im going to have to a really dark blue, with carbon arches and black roof, black door handles and black mirrors, Eventually i want to do a DOHC conversion...........in about 2 years
The car has always been kept in a garage and has only done 52 K on the clock......and that not around and 52K which is good! No work has been done on it before i got it, and its always been with one owner, who sadly passed away... When i got it running for the first time it felt great as it hadn't been ran for 2 years before i got it, and i looked like it too!!!
So, they are the plans, and hope to get to some shows when its all done so some of you can have a look

yea its ok atm. any ideas what i should do about the hole just under the front window screen? its about 2cm in diameter. Should i just slap some rust stuff on it, prime and then fill?

get it welded where you can, otherwise it will just come back to haunt you :'(

ok! i shall have to get it to a garage for the i think! kinda anoying as its not road legal atall! lol

Right quick update...I have taken off the manifold, carb and air filter, as they are all being reaplaced, this weekend i am drilling the holes for the roll cage, taking off the arches, the light bowls, takeing off the whole exhaust system,
then to finish off my sunday, more sanding and spray prep

ok another update, have changed a few ideas, im going to classic red and white roof, with nice wide white arches, with 13x6 or 7.
And i have some pics, which a friend took, should be up sometime today or tomorrow
