Hello everybody! On Christmas Eve I got an unwanted present when a large car backed into my classic mini bending the bootlid in enough so that it cannot be fixed by the dent man! The man that did this was fair and left his name/address etc. and will pay ( no ins. involvement). I live in Essex (someone has to!) so does anybody know of a someone who specialises in classic mini bodywork repair? I live in Basildon area.

Any help would be appreciated as from past experience it will be a filler job and I want either a new bootlid or a good 2nd hand one resprayed to match.

Thanks and Happy New Year to all!

There is a place on canvey called little legends who restores classic minis. A bloke called Jamie runs it, I've never had work done by him but I bought my current mini from him and lots of bits over the years. He always seems to have lots of work on so may be worth a call.

I've got an old spare bootlid in dagenham you can have if you want, someone did say they were going to take it like 6 months ago but it never happened

it's not brand spanking sparkly new but then again it also doesn't have a big dent in it, would be a lot easier to refurb I think

up to you, take it if you want it I don't need money for it, PM me if you want phone no and postcode

If it's just the boot-lid which is damaged, you just need to get it sanded back, primed and sprayed. It's easy to fit it yourself in about 45 minutes.

If you join the Essex mini club, there is a guy on there who has a body shop, it's out the back of Brentwood and where the AC Dodd tuning days are held.
