Is there any difference to be taken note of between shimming a helical open diff and a straight cut CW/P equipped LSD?
I can't see that there should be but thought I'd best ask.

I shim them all up the same. It's to preload the bearings and take any shimmy out of them.

As above. It’s the bearings you are loading. But what I do do is make sure the CW is nicely positioned on the Pimion.

I shim my Quaife atb from the flywheel side to position the crownwheel (MED straight cut) a bit more centrally on the pinion.
