Mine from 79 was rotten. I got hold of another one and that one is slightly longer and with a smaller radius? I am a bit puzzled. Are there different variants?

Yes and no is the answer I`m afraid.

Mk1 to early Mk3 had the hinges in a different position and the MK1 didn`t have a lip for the chrome trim but other than that they were all the same.

BUT it seems no two bonnets are never precisely the same but if you have the cars original wings still attached a bonnet from the mid to late 70`s will be the best fit.

As the factory tooling got more and more worn the panels got a bit larger and a little less sharp.

Hopefully you can tweek what you have with a little manipulation.

You may find you have a pattern part that would be way out, they sometimes have both hinge mounting panels.

The only difference at the front is the later ones had the lip pop riveted on for the trim.
