I read somewhere on here, can't find it now you need about half inch movement on the clutch arm?
Pre verto, engine/box rebuilt 2019, 20/50 oil, clutch adjusted as per Steventon motor Co on YouTube
Worth trying slave cylinder and arm first or better pulling the engine out? Cheers, Jimmy

Go for a drive, warm up the oil. Come to a dead stop somewhere, slip it in Neutral, foot off the clutch. Then foot on the clutch and engage Reverse.
If it slips in fine, no grinding at all, then there's every chance the clutch is working perfectly and the issue will be in the gearbox.

It's almost certainly the syncros.

I just dissembled my gear box for the first time and it's surprising quote simple. Mine was crunching and the baulk rings were knackered.

Was just going to post a similar commentJust double de-clutch. The early Mk1 cars had poor synchro and we had to double de-clutch all the time.

Thanks again for the comments. I'm going to run it while I'm saving for a gearbox rebuild kit, double clutching all the way. I don't do a lot of miles anyway.
I'll have to put St Bernard's pass off till next year lol
