I was adding a ported vacuum  location to my HS6 as it was never drilled (after watching Dodd's video advising it)

While I drilled the 3/64 through hole my drill wandered slightly, my fault, and it isn't completely occluded by my throttle plate.

Will this be an issue? Should I plug it and try again in another spot?

Yes. Plug it and try harder next time.

Is it really worth this much effort for ported vacuum?

It makes no difference vs manifold vacuum except at idle.

Is that throttle resting on a correctly adjusted idle speed screw? It looks like it might do the job anyway. You want the vacuum to disappear at idle, less advance means less time for trying to push the pistons back where they came from.

You could probably rig up a crude test rig with a vacuum cleaner standing in for a running engine.

I'd suggest leaving it as you have done it there. It will pull some vacuum at idle, but it will be very very small.

If you go to post #18 in this thread;-

You'll see that the throttle needs to be open aways before any vacuum is pulled from the ported vacuum take off, hence why I suggest where you have yours now will be fine.

Thanks Spider! That's some useful info, I'll hopefully have time to confirm that myself soon.
