As the title says, who is still using their mini as a daily? I use mine every day for the commute to work and back and I wondered how many still uses theirs or are they all wrapped up in the garage.

No chance. The condition of the roads and poor driving standards means the daily driver is a car I don’t care about.

Absolutely, it’s a van, it’s designed to be a work vehicle, it’s certainly no show vehicle.

I bought mine about 12 years ago as my very own first and only car and use it ever since as my everyday car and have driven around 15.000 miles per year.

I still use it for almost every drive, only for big stuff, like washing machines or 5 metre long roof beams I use the Volvo I inherited from my late father a few years ago.

Hopefully I will complete 200.000 miles next year...

Not as a daily but very regularly, probably 2 or 3 times a week.

I use my Mk3 most days as I love driving it and I`m at an age where I realise I could drop dead at any time so rather than lose my enjoyment to save the next custodian a bit of work I use the damn thing.

Not whilst it's freezing out, and there's salt on the roads.  And my "big" car has heated seats, cabin pre-heat/windscreen de-ice and power assisted brakes ;-)

Same as others, not whilst there's a lot of salt and s**t on the roads. Taking the opportunity to get all the jobs done so this summer, the second one we'll have had it, we'll bang some miles on the fella. :shades:

Yep, absoloutely, I use my MPI to drop the kids at school every day year round and have done for just over 2 years now plus my drive into work 3 times a week (2 days WFH), plus just about everything else except anything that needs all 5 of us to go. Using these things keeps them in good fettle.

Yes it will mean it will deteriorate faster bodywork-wise, but it also means i get a smile on my face every single day from driving it, plus half the kids at my son and daughter's school want a Mini now thanks to seeing it/nosy about inside it so I have inspired the next generation of owners! haha.

End of the day, they're cars they're meant to be used!

Unlike others I am not driving mine at the moment as we are in the middle of a heat wave, its been high 30s to mid 40C here for a week and the next week is similar. Aircon wins that battle.
It is econimical to drive classics as well if you consider the cost to keep on the road versus buying a new car every 5 years even major work and you still get the joy of actually having to drive a real car that doesn't tell you what to do all the time.

I intend to, just as soon as it's roadworthy. It'll be more winter suitable than my MX5 NA (once I get that roadworthy lol)

I am retired and use it at every opportunity, I do avoid using it when the roads have been gritted, but it always brings a smile to my face when I drive it.

The great majority of the miles on my mini are till those that were driven while I lived in Europe - long ago.

We've only travelled some 12,000kms in 25 years - so far!

After several relocations to various continents (without the mini), we are together once again! - I had only seen it a couple of times in the last 3 years!

I try to drive it now - but I drive it mostly for fun or a relaxing drive in the hills, maybe a quick drive (a small) downtown. (- I am weary of morons on mobiles inside moving SUVs!)

The mini seems to like to go to breweries and wineries!

Occasionally, I'll take it for a quick errand or to pick-up the boys from school. - It does not go out in the rain! This is not a problem here as it does not rain much at all!

I do prize the miles I put on it - it always puts a big grin on my face!

This world needs more minis!

My newest car being an '85 Citroen BX means I drive a classic whenever I go out. My winter car is Ted the Morris Minor Traveller but being well into retirement I don't do a lot of miles. Next week though the BX will be out again as I've a few longish trips planned.
