I am restoring a 1975 Mini. The shifter hole was buggered up in mine, so I had to rebuild the tunnel section and I need to drill a propper hole for the new shifter. If you could measure from the crossmember to the center if the shifter I would really appreciate it. Thank you

Remove gear stick. Bolt up the mounts to the cross beam. Mark the position. Remove shifter housing. Drill hole.

It might depend on how long the shift rod is, some people might have varying length ones, as I recently discovered. I have an SPI shell with a straight across subframe but odd shifter housing. Oddly the big hole and fixing holes look factory!

There is some variation, but a '75 should be straight forward if it's all the original bits. I'd be happy with making a best guess with a tape measure to make a pilot hole & adjust from there. You could even strip the guts out of the selector, bolt it on & use it as a guide from below.
