Engine currently out the car, but I need to move the car forward a few feet to get access to the boot (small garage). I was planning to connect the engine crane to the front subframe and pull the car forward, the crane is good for 1 ton but will the subframe hold? I've jacked it up dozens of times from under, but will be using some existing holes forward of the engine mount bracket holes to bolt the load balancer ends to.

I use a loop of rope round the front cross member of the subframe, that comes above the bonnet catch.

If the engine is out, just pick the front end up by hand (enlist the help of a mate if needed).

Thanks all, didnt mention the front drive train was not connected. Worked a treat anyway just to pull it forward a few feet and back again.
