Looking to replace the two bump stops located on the front subframe on my Mk1 hydro mini (1965) and would appreciate information on where to purchase quality replacements and also guidance on the procedure to complete the task. I attach a photo showing existing on near side and ought to say I only have limited mechanical knowledge. Thanks in anticipation of prompt replies.

Do you mean the bump stops or the rebound buffers?

Bump stops just unbolt from the top arm

Rebound buffers, Jack the car up though the suspension, under the bottom of the hub, should compress the suspension to give you enough clearance to remove/replace them. The screw can get quite rusted in, give them a sharp tap with a well fitting  hammer through screwdriver and try tightening a little bit before unscrewing - NB someone may have already butchered the head, just try the usual ways (cut a slot for a flat head screwdriver, use grips, drill it out, swear loudly at it etc etc)

Any of the reputable suppliers should carry them and they should be of a reasonable standard but a lot of mini stuff is not as good as it was even from the best suppliers....

Thanks for the reply Mark. I think it’s the rebound buffers which need to be replaced (see photo attached) so will order a pair together with new screws. When looking online for parts on line it seems there are two screws per buffer and assume the one on the top of the subframe will be really tricky to undo? I guess a wooden block under the hub is also necessary to offer some protection. Just one final thought - does the car actually sit on the rubber during normal road use if the hydrostatic suspension is set up correctly? Thanks again - much appreciated.

There is only one screw, the one visible in your picture.  The top arm should not be contacting the rubber when set to the correct height.
