Hi all.
My good lady wife, in her wisdom decided when the passenger seat was up, to shut the door and then lower the seat which he caused the passenger side door bin to come lose at one screw. Now I cannot tighten the screw and the bin is loose. Any ideas how to rectify this? Am I going to need to take the door card off and see what I’m not screwing in to and then maybe come up with a plan to pack it out?

it's probably a plastic insert into the hole in the metal, and the screw goes into that.  in which case the plastic bit's either broken, or popped out, or just misaligned

will have to take card off or at least pull it off at one edge to be sure

something like but not necessarily this one https://www.minispar...on-door-fixings

I'd probably buy about 10 of them and replace all of them on that door.  just because shipping charge and might as well, the clips get brittle with age and the threads get constantly re-cut if people don't back-turn the screw sightly to find the thread when screwing them in over the years

Some may scream “Bodge!”, but a simple solution is to remove the screw, poke a matchstick (having removed the end) into the hole and, while holding the matchstick re-insert the screw. It should tighten now.

I may try the bodge whilst waiting for those dodgy clips.
Do you really need a tool to remove them? Thanks all :)
