I have two Mk1 Minis, and I propose a non-commercial, open source project to create 3D CAD drawings of the Countryman/Traveller wood frames, to be published for free. This will be a non-commercial/non-profit project to benefit the Mini community.
The frames, or replacement parts, can then be made by hand or CNC by any individual. Potentially, router template designs could be made so individuals can make parts with a hand held router.
I have access to commercial CAD/CNC wood processing facilities for making prototypes in south east London.
I am seeking original wood frames/parts to take measurements from. Cosmetic condition is not important so long as dimensions can be taken. Either to buy, or to borrow.
If borrowing from someone nearby, I am willing to develop a set of replacement wood frame parts for the cost of materials, which will be substantially less than the cost of new frames.
