Check your radius arms for worn bearings / pins, this will give a very weird sensation espeically when cornering.

Steering from both ends !

Yup, had this very thing on my Wifes Mayfair back in the mid 90's. Felt really strange going around corners and it wasnt until i followed here one day that i saw the car crabbing like mad. Two replacement radius arms later and it was all good in the world.

One arm was beyond repair as it had worn through the bearing and into the arm itself. The car wasnt particularly high mileage either, just suffered from a lack of routine maint.

If we're still not getting anywhere, you may have to be more literal with your description. Is it worse going left or right; is it over or under steering; is the ride bouncy...?

Jack up each corner & give each wheel a good tweak side to side & top to bottom. Look for movement in everything that moves that isn't how it's supposed to move. A pry bar, or big chunky screwdriver, would help to lever & taking the wheel off can give a clearer view.

Hi. It is going in today for investigation and steering geometry check.

I'll let you know the outcome. Thanks for all the feedback

Thanks for all the ideas.

It turns out to be a combination of Front Subframe mounts gone and the wrong tyres fitted.

I'm also going to have the tracking done once the tyres are fitted.

thanks again for your help

Geoff

I've had this in the past. The front subframe was only held on by the tower bolts, all other mounts had come adrift 😁
