Hi all,

I'm restoring a 1980 1275GT, got the shell back from the body shop a couple of months back.  Just come to run the brake line, fuel and battery cable and noticed the clips and channel are missing.  A good chunk of the floor did get replaced...so either the replacement floor didn't come with those fitted or they've missed off welding them on.

Question is, do I go get the shell back to the body shop, have the clips welded on and re-painted or is there another option?  P-clips?  Rivet the correct clips on rather than weld?

Any thoughts?

Cheers,

Andrew

Considering these clips support your brake lines, power and fuel i would be more confident of using rivets than panel bond. But you would need to use a monel type rivet otherwise you will end up with dissimilar corrosion.

The works rally cars used to run the brake and power cable inside the car on the driver's side, in the convenient floor grooves and put the fuel pipe in the passenger Cant Rail.
