Hi all. On page 9-18 in the Haynes Manual there is this little,( they call it a air filter) filter in the small boot. Is there a part number for this and do you replace this from time to time or just leave it alone. 69-2001 Haynes. My car is a 1990 998cc manual.  It's on the vacuum servo rod.    Thanks

Not got a haines manual to look at, but I'm pretty sure this is the foam filter shown in the repair kit

I have seen servos mounted under the wing, with "Fossilised" filter, that still worked.

There isn't any airflow to  speak of, just enough to establish atmospheric pressure behind the diaphragm when you brake. If it's just the filter you need don't see why you couldn't fashion your own from a bit of foam for a hoover or fish tank.

The factory recommended period for that filter change out is 24,000 miles, however if it's regularly used in dusty conditions, this may need doing sooner.

I use a vacuum foam / sponge filter material .

but air must be able to pass thru it - not all sponge materials allow air thru

Probably the least changed filter on cars .
