Hi All.
I suspect that this is common story; I had three minis in my teens, and have always had a hankering to get one again. After some searching, I've found a remarkably rust free 1985 Mini ritz. It needs lots of work, not least paint, interior, electrics, basically everything bar welding!
I hope to get it up and running before the end of teh year, and I'll be doing everything myself. I'm not new to working on cars, but having to remind myself about carbs! It currently has a decent manifold leak, so parts are on their way from minispares already.
Plans for the car (in a vague order of priorities);
Strip & rebuild the carb (already done)
Get the engine running properly
Paint
fix some basic electirical gremlins
swap to 10" wheels
tidy up the interior
more power (obviously)
The car came with some interesting parts already fitted; 65D, MED engine braces, alloy rad, minifins, all on a standard 998! The wiring to the 65D was still ballasted, so that's already had a 12v feed.
Cheers All.
