Some here may know Trevor Ripley, he did much for those involved with early Minis, particularly the 59 - 61 cars. It's with great sadness that I have been informed that he passed away at the conclusion of Gaydon on Sunday.

He contributed so much over the years, his huge contributions in establishing the 59 Register. He will be missed by many. May he rest in peace, at least whilst 'in his element'.

Thanks for sharing. I met Trevor a few times over the years at various shows and had some very interesting conversations particularly around South African minis. His knowledge will certainly be missed. Condolences to all his friends and family.

I remember Trevor, as an almost walking encyclopedia.

I only ever spoke on the phone with him, about a dozen times, and only once, I think, he said,"I must check, I'll ring you back".

A lovely chap, always willing to share his knowledge.

I’m absolutely gutted! This man was a friend of mine for many a year but more recently I had struggled to get a response from him. I guess it’s hard for those around him to reach out to each and every person he may have considered a friend as he was so popular in the mini community.
I helped with sourcing some incredibly rare minis for him and he did the same in return with parts and advice. we discussed all kinds of mini history.
I’ll miss you mate!
If any family read this thread then I’m truly sorry for your loss

RIP
