Here again sorry,

 

    I'm trying to find an S block to suit my november 1970 mk3 S to bring it back to original as possible........

 

       So I've located another thick flange S block, unlined but over sized +20 TO MAKE IT 1293cc the rear casting numbers are AEG312 and AEG634 with tappet chests which is correct.

 

What is puzzling me is another casting number on the front to the right of the oil filter housing, it has .77 cast into it, can anyone tell me the purpose of this number and what it means please (see picture if it works lol)
