Hi all,

I am struggling to find out what colour my mini is, and I need to know so I can finish some repairs. There is no plate inside the car/engine bay or anywhere....the car was crashed some 15 years ago and when they replaced part of the front end, the ID plate was never put back on :(

The car is a Leyland 1980 (September) mk4 998cc. Picture attached.

I know its white, but anything more helpful would be very much appreciated.

Thanks,

Dave

Hi,

The one thing I suggest you could do is to take the car to an auto paint supplier (assuming there is one in Jersey) and ask them to scan it to get as close a match as possible.

I had a 1980's Mini in that era which was 'Arum White'

There's the color it was painted, then there's the color it is now (due to fading with sunlight & time).

If you'll paint the whole car, then choose your factory color. When it comes to shades of white; I am partial to 'Old English white' for a mini.

"Snowberry white" also looks great, but that came with a black roof - whis is also very appealing...

As above, you'd do better getting it matched. Possibly by removing something painted to take or send to a paint suppliers, like a bonnet hinge. You can do your own "prematch" by comparing it to the bodywork around the car. Bear in mind different types of paint can look different under different light conditions
