I wanted to recommend a family friend who has a great business focusing on classic cars, including our beloved Minis.
I hope this doesn't break any forum rules.
I can do some fiddling and servicing with our Mini, Marvin, but with arthritis in my hands, some of the heavy jobs need to be outsourced.
So yesterday, I took Marvin to Vaudrey’s Classic Car Solutions just outside Macclesfield and found Marvin and I playing a cameo role in a wonderful story of donated 'classic car tools'.
In short, the son of a classic car mechanic and enthusiast wanted to donate his father's tools to a place where they'd get used, and although he'd approached many garages, all refused/declined the donation; until he spoke to Al.
I'd just arrived to leave Marvin in Al Vaudry's trusted hands to carry out various jobs including fitting and tuning a newly acquired AC Dodd HIF44 carb.
But rather than me tell the story, here's Al in this own words with Marvin posing in the background. And as a bonus, Marvin's mods will feature in future videos.
