Hopefully I’ve not missed this anywhere else, but not come up with anything in the search.

I’m trying to remove the three clock binnacle from our Mini Thirty - to replace the lights with LED’s and because I’m hoping the indicator relay is behind there somewhere (I have a replacement ready with a nice loud click).

But I’m stuffed if I can figure out how it comes out?  And google just provides AI answers that don’t seem to match reality.  Can anyone assist, or point to a guide?  I’ve managed to remove the screws either side that fix the clocks to the mounting frame, but there seem to be more in the middle I can’t reach.  I can also see two nuts on the bulkhead in the engine bay that look like they might be involved, but loosening them doesn’t seem to have any effect either.  And I really don’t want to break anything by pulling too hard without having removed all the fixings…

For the 3 clock dash, the easiest way I've found to remove/replace the unit is to remove the steering wheel (for better access), steering column shroud (to allow the dash to be removed more easily and then undo the 4 10mm nuts in the engine bay that hold the frame that the dash mounts on to. you can then pull the dash towards you and disconnect the electrical connector/speedo etc.

I put a 3 clock dash in my car, and have had it in/out a dozen or so times, and this is the best/quickest way for me. It also means that the binnacle stays on the 3 clocks so less chance of damage.

Okay, so remove the whole assemble from engine bay side first?

Only issue - I only see three fixings (circled in red),where should the fourth one be?

You're nearly there - the left and middle nuts are correct, the one on the right isn't part of the frame. The other two nuts are vertically up from the lower ones you've found. I've just had a look in my engine bay and they are tucked up higher, the one on the left is just under the windscreen wiper panel (?)/scuttle. the one on the left is also quite high up, above and to the left of the fuse box.

Like you, I have sound insulation there too which is stuck down so I couldn't get decent pictures. if you look at the frame that holds the 3 clock dash, you will see how the bolts are arranged through the bulkhead.

Edit; here's a pic of the 3 clock dash frame mount. You can see the arrangement of bolts - you've highlighted the lower ones so far.
