When tightening the front hub nuts after fitting brand new hubs and tapper bearings the disk (no calliper fitted) seems quite stiff tor turn. The hub nut was done up first with a flat washer then the tapper washer fitted and re-torqued. Torque is high (around 200Nm)

I just wondered how freely people would expect the front hub to spin once torqued up?

Well your front will not turn that easily as there is a drive shaft and gearbox attached,

If you've fitted Timken bearings, they won't spin freely, but will turn fairly easy. I've never measure the breakaway or turning toque needed.

I have noticed with the after-market bearings, these can be very tight, most likely leading to their early demise.
