After a busy few years I finally cannot watch the Mini rotting in the front garden any longer. I fully restored it between 2007 – 2009 and then had to repaint in 2014 but years of regular use in all weathers, living outside and general neglect has not been kind to it.

The car is sound but it is disappointing how fast it has deteriorated since I took it off the road in 2021.
With other projects finished I can now spend some time and money to get it in a condition where I am proud of it again.

Started pulling it apart last weekend.

Subframes off, body onto a trolley and now removing everything.

Plan is to get it sandblasted instead of spending goodness knows how many hours with a sander.

There is a place local to me with a very good reputation that will blast and then finish in zinc phosphate etch primer.

The only place I can't have blasted is the dashboard area. I built a custom wiring loom in-situ years ago and never considered that I might have to remove it one day. The only way to fully remove it is to cut wires and I'm reluctant to do that. I will have to carefully protect it and then fully bag up anything I don't want full of blast media.
