We are trying to fit new races into the new upright hubs on the front of our classic 1989 mini. We have watched all the videos where a few taps on a drift makes the race slip into place, this is not the case.  Having spent all afternoon bashing it with a hammer it hasnt moved at all. There are people on the web suggesting freezing the race and heating the hub, anyone got any advice please?

Before diving in the deep end, what bearings have you got ?

There should be a brand and number on the outer cup.

As you are aware it’s difficult to describe the process and the best advice I can offer is to watch https://youtu.be/RQo...5bkLX9pCA068R6x
