I'm here as an accidental Mini owner, having a blue metallic 1991 Mini 1000 inherited by a relative sitting on my drive. It's had quite a few modifications including wide wheel arches and various electrical upgrades. The engine number comes back as a 998cc, flat top pistons with press fit wrist pins and a lead-free cylinder head.
The car needs a full service and a half-completed instrument upgrade sorting. My relative is incapable of doing any of this so the work falls on me. I have all the tools and DIY competence to do the work, although I lack some knowledge and it's a while since I've adjusted tappets and set timing on a distributor.
