Hi all,

I am changing my entire front brakes to metro four pots and was wondering if there is anything I could/should do while the drive flange is off?

I will be checking Ball joints - as I know one has movement

Also I presume I can clean the spindles and re lubricate them - What about the wheel bearings - should I disturb them or just try and pack some new grease into them before reassembly?

Anything else?

Thanks Jason

If they are the original bearings, and there is minimal play in them, they are probably better quality than their replacements.

Adding a little grease would do no harm, but DON'T pack them.

I would imagine your insurance company should be informed.

Might as replace the CV boots while you're at it I guess if they're looking at all middle-aged.

Why fit Metro 4 pots?

you will need the correct drive flanges. You will need to change the brake hoses and most likely the hard lines.

to gain what? If vented brakes that are harder to get to work. If solid brakes that don’t actually improve anything.

have a read of the info on Calver STs page link in my signature.
