After months of trawling Facebook Marketplace and eBay listings, I’ve finally gathered everything I need to kick off my dream build. This isn’t going to be your typical restoration. I’m taking this iconic little car and dropping in a Honda D16 VTEC engine, turning it into a compact street monster with the heart of a rev-happy Japanese legend.
It’s a mash-up of British charm and JDM reliability, built from parts hunted down piece by piece, often late at night with a cup of tea (or beer) in hand. There’ll be fabrication, frustration, and probably a few busted knuckles — but by the end of it, the goal is simple: a Mini that looks old school but goes like hell.
