In my timken rear bearing kit, there is a little rubber O ring, does anyone know where it goes?
I am not talking about the oil seal.
Thanks

No, in a word, is the diameter a clue?
They should be matched sets so 2 bearings & a spacer would normally be secured together.

I believe it goes between the stub axle and backing plate.
You mean I have to remove the back plate?

For mist Minis, you'll put it in the bin. On the very very late cars, there was a groove machined in to the Seal Boss (which is part of the arm casting) for this O Ring. It's to provide an additional seal between the bearing and the arm.

This is mentioned in the fitting instructions included with the kit.
