Okay guys/gals,

Working on my buddies classic mini and we keep blowing the damn fuse on 7-8 -

7 and 8 15amp Side and tail lights, instrument panel lights

Now, as follows

Drop a 15 amp fuse, damn thing lights up/arks, and bomb, gone - see image above

What works, indicators (all but the passenger side), rear brake lights, - obviously nothing for dashboard, side lights and front /rear lights - zippo

Now, passenger side front indicator does not work and assume could be a ground somewhere but took a look and looks okay but obviously something is wrong

Just doing a sanity and figure need to trace that front passenger indicator as noticed nothing happens when I switch on indicator arm as per above all work ( drivers side, both rear) except passenger side front

Anyone experience this and just checking I am on the right diagnostic path

In the image

- you will see blown fuse
- test probe I pointed to the green/red wire that blows everything up!!!! (Sounds like grounding somewhere)

Oh, switching out his stalk anyways as there is an issue with it as connector is not making contact properly and have a twist tie on it to make sure it works - this way I can at least see what is and is not coming on and blow that damn fuse!!

Something must be shorting. The number plate lamp is a likely suspect, but there are plenty of others.

If you have an ohmmeter, you could hook it up between the downstream fuse terminal & earth, then go in search of infinity by  unplugging stuff from from the circuit. The Resistance ought to be off the scale with all the bulbs removed.

.........Any 12v bulb, the less powerful the better. As you remove bulbs from downstream, the overall resistance should increase and your test light should get a little bit dimmer (or the ohms recorded on the ohmmeter will increase). If it's difficult to judge, there's a comparable light on the opposite side of the car.

Thx Ethel and I think it has everything to do with the passenger side front indicator not working
