Heres a couple of things id like to ask experts.

Context:

- The steering rack was changed (not quickrack) the job wasnt done with the attention to detail i would have liked. The plastic strips that go in between the rack and the u bolts were not installed and I doubt the steering rack was centralized by inserting the pin at the floor. I have my doubts on the alignment done by the same shop.

- I installed new wheels, 6x10 ET+3. I installed this wheels with new A008. The wheels rub just a little only on the left front outer fender. I have standard arches and the wheels stick out about an inch or so. The right hand side is really close but it doesnt rub. I can see that the left side wheels stick out more that the right side wheels by about half inch. Previous wheels were 6x10 ET+5.5with A032R and they didnt rub. I drove the car with the latter after the racks job and all good.

With that info, heres what I am experiencing after installing the new wheels and tyres:

I am experiencing a sort of clicking noise when accelerating from a stop or when reversing. With the ET+3 and A008, road noise is really weird. It sounds as if I was driving on winter tyres over hot asphalt, or over gravel per say at highway speeds.

With the A032R and ET+5.5 it doesnt happen.

Could the road noise be more present goven the fact that the new tyres stick out more? Could bad alignment influence this? I am getting the car checked soon, all suspension components, but Id like to show up with some information to be able to easily troubleshoot at the shop. Anything to check in the rear? Why would left wheels stick out more than the right hand side? What things should i adjust to sort that?

PS: I will be installing adjustable tie rods, to potentially correct the caster and then re align the geometry. I also bought some of the spacers that go in between the front subframe and the front panel. Long text but thanks for reading!

I also forgot to mention, as the title says, the caster on the left front side is forward a little. That could explain why it touches the fender.

If they only changed the rack then the caster will be the same as before

Tyres touching body can be a caster issue but more likely a wheel or body issue.

what are your suspension settings? Picture of print out? Or picture of results.

Hi all, thanks for your responses. Tie rod was bent and the alignment was really wonky. Got it sorted and rubbing no more. Also the reack wasnt centered as I suspected, all good now!
