Hi I have in my collection of cars to restore a Black Mini Cooper registered 2000 on v5 it states cooper , but when I bought it along with 2 more I was told it was a special edition model. It’s been resprayed at some point but was definitely black and looks as if it might have had a white roof at some point, the seats are all black and I believe they are called Ravioli? The dashboard is all black too, I’m thinking it may be a mini classic cooper, just wondering if anyone had any knowledge or had one similar as there doesn’t seem to be a lot about if any?
Also the vin plate is missing but the number stamped in the scuttle is there and matches the v5 as does the engine number, I’m hoping to get a new one made up, any ideas on what the trim code would be?

Sounds like you have a Rover Mini Cooper Sport, one of the last cars, not necessarily a special edition as such.

However the last 500 were limited edition, and someone more knowledgeable than me can tell you the differences

There’s tons online, like this:

If you want trim advice, best post some pics, you can upload here and post the links:

I think pics would help. If it has standard arches, and not the sportspack, i would guess its a classic cooper.

Yes but, Grand Prix, Cooper S and Cooper Sport 5 were all from John Cooper Garages only. And I think the OP would know if he has one of those.
My money is that it’s either a regular Cooper Sport or perhaps a Cooper Sport 500, they had silver roofs I think?

Plenty were available.
