I have had to remake the bottom of the inside 'boxing' plate (ALA5688 on Minispares) on both sides. Had rotted out.

 

I realise I need to remove some of it as marked in pencil on the photo to allow for the lip of the new sill... but does it go between the doorstep and inner sill  - or as I have it here?

 

The joggle on the bottom edge leads me to think it is sandwiched between.

The boxing plate sits behind the inner sill and underlaps it by about 10mm. It should be up against the door frame with the sill over the top.
