My plan is to weld a boot floor and a full floor because that will include the hill board and the sills. I also have one rusty companion bin so obviously I need to brace The shell. Had a look at tubing online and I found somewhere that does custom sizes. What sizes do I need to order I know that they may be slightly out, but I’m assuming that all or roughly the same size depending on model year it’s a 1990 5SPI Cooper

just used 20mm steel box when i did mine. braced across door a to b post and across car a to a and b to b posts with 1 bar diagonal

Like Coopertaz, i used 20mm box, A post to A post, B post to A post, then a cross brace over the floor crossmember with drop downs to that.

 

Adding diagonals or gussets to the corners will help prevent flex. I had no issue with mine and that was on a spit as well. Never removed a whole floor but removed a lot of everything else.
