I have a noisy transfer gear whine or is it normal.
i have changed the clutch in situ but
Is it possible to remove the transfer housing in situ ?

Mini city 1982.

I have heard of it being done, but it's not easy and it's easier to pull the engine out and do the job properly.

You'll need to remove the engine so that you can get the idler gear shimmed up properly.

It’s not normal and if it’s really bad it can cost you a gearbox case. As above you can remove the transfer case in site but you need the engine off the box to shim the idler.
