Hopefully many of the advance ticket sales were paid using a Credit Card?
If so, under 'Section 75' refunds any payments of more than £100 and less than £30,000 on your credit card and your card company then has a LEGAL responsibility to come to the rescue and get your money back if there's a problem:-

I'm not sure that's enough though. With social media details and ease of access I can see his life becoming a bit of a pain in the coming months.
I hadn't bought a ticket but was planning to a couple of days before. All in all, a bit of a nightmare

Now I am not happy. I was prepared to give these clowns the benefit of the doubt who got out of their depth but would pull through but this now stinks of a calculated scam. I paid £320 just a few weeks back when they must have known they were in trouble but were happy to take it. All involved are an utter disgrace to the Mini Community.

Hi,

I wouldn't exactly call it a cottage.

Put that address as shown in companies house link above into Google Earth and you will see what I mean.

How many will be knocking on his door.

I was excited for this but the promotion / advertising was non existent, solid info hard to get, the pricing was steep and no day tickets.

so forgot all about it, and now to the surprise of no one it's folded.

i think it was run by a chancer thinking they could get a big pay day imo, i bet the organiser kept drawing a wage packet as is the modern way of running something into the ground at the expense of all others.

The business was incorporated two years ago so he's had plenty of time to think about how not to ******* it up before taking people's money.

Just curious, how does someone bagsy the IMM?

Not sure these days but in the past if this years event did take place there would be some sort of "inner top secret committee" meeting where they would go through Clubs bids to hold the event in 2027 (Poland having got 2026). The winning Club are given a big Tin Foil key and get pissed waking up the following day bricking it that they have committed to hosting a major event.

Or in the case of this years lot you immediately set up a Limited Company, plan the event on the busiest Bank Holiday weekend, take peoples money dissolve company and walk away blaming everyone else for negativity.

I'm £320 out of pocket I can ill afford but I feel more for those coming from Europe who have probably lost Ferry costs which were probably very expensive due to time of year and probably cost of stop overs getting here.

Sadly this address is only a correspondence address, and comes back as a school.

I question if this is his real name, as theres a massive smoke screen surrounding this.

Somebody, somewhere knows more about him than is letting on.

Police won't do anything as its considered fraud, not theft, so we all have to report it to an online portal.

Apparently, no money has been paid to the showground, but they had a booking. (very strange in itself).

i feel for the business's that have spent thousands on this, and he can just fold the company and waltz away with everyone's money.

no top secret meeting, the IMM is organised by clubs and all club presidents are invited to a meeting at the IMM where clubs put forward their bids and a vote is cast. if you register to attend the event as a club you will be told of the meeting.

you would need a company set up to handle such a large undertaking, also why plan it when people are at work!! so bank holiday makes sense. some mini owners, me included, have imm's as holidays.

understand your annoyance of lost money though and agree to postpone the event then liquidate company is *******. Imm 2020 did it right as covid blew their event appart with clarity and updates on their site.

also agree organisors need to take responsibility for poor sales and stop blaming negativity, if your market something wrongly be it lack of advertising or incorrect pricing it will not sell.

google search property does exist and there is a phone number there, so seems legit and school appears to be a venture run from the adress. strange about showground though if true no money paid.

For those who paid for stuff on a credit card, contact your credit card company and initiate a chargeback.  I did mine sitting on a beach and now have a refund.  The card companies have more clout than one individual.

Yep, I represented a club during the 2019 presentations for 2020. Nothing secretive, just limited to club leads to keep it sensible.
For that one there were a few clubs present that had been involved with running other IMMs so it’s not an inexperienced crowd, and the presentations/proposals are fairly scrutinised.

Which leads me to believe that 2025 started off as a genuine proposition, but seems to have gone off the rails at some point. Having worked with a few of the folk involved with 2025 during the 2019 IMM, at least a some weren’t on the take, but I can’t answer for all. Lots of rumours circulating, some with substance, others less so.

I think the organisers deserve a huge thanks. An undertaking such as this is HUGE...... FROM TOILET BLOCK, PUBLIC LIABILITY INSURANCE, TICKETS, MERCH, ENTERTAINMENT, ETC.

ALL TAKE TIME.

they do not want to cancel... but if no support then their hands are tied...makes no sense to run it at a huge loss to their own personal funds....
Like most think they would rather spend their cash on mini bits...

Everyone is struggling with cash but still think they deserve a huge

THANK YOU.. for your efforts...

this is not at doubt and do agree BUT they have aimed too high with what they tried to put on which pushed up costs, they also failed to update people as to what was going to be on at the event (i signed up for updates from the outset and got none)

had they publisised it better who knows. also postponing was an option if they were looking for alternative venues but were they, we did not know as no info. was forthcomming. then liquidising after this has led to all the speculation, anger and rumours. bad things happen and shows get cancelled but reflects on organisers how they handle this, in this case they fell way short.

Limited Edition 2025 IMM Corgi Mini Model....might become a future rare collectible?
https://www.minispor...mini-model.html

The box carries the 'Mini Cooper Club' badge/logo which dates back to when the original Mini Cooper Club was formed back in 1980. I was quite surprised when MiniWorld magazine announced the MCC was organising a big event like the IMM 2025 earlier this year, as I thought the club had disappeared from the scene, soon after the rival 'Mini Cooper Register' was formed by a group of unhappy ex-MCC members in 1986?
