Hello, I’m new to this forum and recently bought my first Austin Mini Clubman. I’m trying to find out more about the car using the car number. I’m hoping someone can help me decipher what the numbers mean? XC2W2-346908A

Hi there,

I think you will find the answer on the MiniMania website;

https://www.minimani...art_I__Revised_

From what I can tell your chassis No. translates as a 1974 to 1980 car as follows;

X = Non significant

C = 1098

2W = Estate

2 = Clubman, square nose style

And the last letter ‘A’ denotes that it was built at Longbridge

I hope this is what you are expecting?

Thanks so much. It was sold as a 67 but many things led me to believe it wasn't. Thanks again, Kevin

Unfortunatly many cars over your side of the water are not what people say they are.

if you want help post up pictures.

there are also date stamps on the wiper motor, trunk/boot lock and even the glass has date markings.
