I am new to the forum having been recommended to join by Mini Spares. I am looking to sell my mini (a 1994 Mini Tahiti with fairly extensive work done/changes made) but don’t know where to start - I want her to be loved like I’ve loved her! Any advice is gladly received!

I was advised to join this group by a local mini shop and was told I would be able to get help and advice here, but instead feel as though I have been reprimanded on my very first post.
I am of course aware of sites such as autotrader and the like, but wanted to avoid generic car sales sites as I want my beloved mini to go to someone who will love her as much as I do!

I sold one of my minis there recently, it’s free and straight forward, ignore the auction section, just put up a classified ad.
Classic minis tend to sit unsold on autotrader from my research.
EBay is another option, £20 for a classified ad, and you’ll get interest and perhaps time wasters, but that’s true of any platform really.
My advice is, take loads of clear photos, and list anything and everything about the vehicle, as much info as possible, and be honest. This works for me.
I’m a big fan of this forum, and I’d encourage you to join if keeping the vehicle; but the for sale section is dead for some reason, as most on here have minis. And those that want more minis, will be checking the above places anyway.
Good luck.

Great advice from Beardylondondon. I recently sold a Classic on eBay, for sale for 4 1/2 hours and gone!
I know it has its faults , but it certainly reaches out and gets things moving ,especially if you have a realistic price.
Good luck , I hope it works for you.

I'm sorry if I gave that impression. We do get a lot of spam & it can be time consuming to deal with.
Minis are popular, unfortunately that means there's no shortage of people looking to cash in. Wherever you advertise you're likely to attract their attention. At least an owners club is likely to only attract people with an interest in Minis in particular. It depends how much of a rush you're in to sell I suppose.

I wouldn't take it personally the forum has to take a firm stance on people who show up with no previous posts, try to sell things (or even con people) then disappear again without contributing in anyway, it happens a fair bit so sadly sometimes genuine people (like yourself it appears) do get swept up in that
the membership is only like £5 or something then you can chat freely and put up advert posts, etc. to be fair it's more aimed at people who are intending to stay and discuss faults, suggest solutions and so on

Tmf+ was really aimed at helping members with some discounts, but it also tells us you at least have a bank account that at least partly matches your other details as a discouragement to the dishonest chancers.
As above, our classifieds are nothing like as lively as they used to be.

Local car shows. Or near a motor museum...
