Hi all,
Putting the cold air tubing in under the left wing and I think I'm missing a part.
The ducting that goes from the front panel is a lot smaller than the dashboard connection, the inner wing bit. Is there an adapter that should be here?

Thanks. If anyone has photos 👍

Pete

On my 1989 car the pipe fits over both the eyeball vent and the grille scoop.Steve..

Is the hose the same diameter both ends....would it work if ends were reversed?

Hi,

In your picture does the black fitting that is fixed to the bulkhead have the same diameter on both sides.

Could you have fitted it the wrong way by mistake.

The hose has the same diameter both ends and so do the parts screwed to the bulkhead inner wing.
There must be something missing, I can't remember how it was when I removed it.

Does the narrow hose not push iINSIDE the back of the eyeball vent instead of over it like the wider hose?

It will go in, but it's not tight and flops around.

As I remember them the hose  pushed over at both ends. The bit on the bulkhead also had a bayonet style socket to attach the vent, so it can't be back to front if it has the same.

From Mab's link the only part that changed was the scoop at the front end. It would seem a better place to risk a leak than in to the dash: if the other hose end goes over the inner wing fitting.

That tube is much wider than mine. That one will fit straight over the air vent.

That'll be a late 80s Mini, going by the  side repeater.

What year is your Mini as some part number listings say there is pre and post injection Mini LH air hose (18 in diagram below) ?

I am guessing the later hose and grille intake plastic duct/intake (linked above by Ethel) may be a different size to clear the electric fan, underwing expansion tank, etc?
