Before I buy new, is anyone selling a KAD or Churchill heavy duty puller?

I realise the Churchill 'owner' hasn't got a great rep but are his pullers any good, especially as they are less than half price of the KAD version?

The KAD puller is expensive, but it makes flywheel removal a pleasure rather than a chore. No experience of the so called "Churchill" puller, but I'd probably steer clear of it.

The laser puller is usually good enough to pop the flywheel.

Quarter of the price. I get that the KAD is the top tool but can not justify the price if just doing this for one job.

Also get that they can be very tight.. but also worked for YEARS before KAD developed their one...

I haven't removed a mini flywheel for over 25 years but even with my heavy duty one they were scary!

Not sure I trust the Laser one and I have heard a few people have broken them.

I can kind of justify the price of the KAD one as it would be labour costs saved and even if it was only used just the once, quality tools will always sell well s/h.

I have used his puller on converters without any issues. Getting the puller from him may be a problem.

Thanks, eBay / PayPal should take the financial risk away if it doesn’t arrive

Are you in a club - maybe "club" together and buy a KAD one to share - but I know if you are the only one who needs it right now it might be hard to convince the others to chip in.

The benefit of the cheap one is that it is small enough to use with the engine still in the car whereas the KAD one will need a hole in the inner wing probably (OK on a race or road car but no good on any collectable or concours car)

I think GuessWorks used to hire a "good" puller if the cheap one doesn't cut it.

Something that probably helps with any puller is access to an impact gun.

The KAD one does fit in situ with full inner wings, but it's very tight needs a piece of wood wedged between the inner wing and the subframe.

Decided to give the ‘Churchill’ one a punt, won’t be here for a couple of weeks (that’s if it turns up… eBay feedback is 100% though).
