Hi all,

Problem is my distributor is 180 degrees out, which makes the HT leads look a mess. Can I just remove and turn 180 deg, my worry is dropping the drive peg.gear off the cam that drives the dizzy into the gearbox or is this not possible ?

Removing the distributor has no risk of dropping the drive. If the drive on the distributor is installed wrong simply punch out the pin and rotate it. It is common for the Chinese ones to be like this. If you need to remove the drive that's in the engine, that's when there's a risk.

Hi, thanks for the reply. It's an Aldon distributor. So I should be able to pull the distributor out without the drive coming with it ?

When I did this on my old engine the drive came out with the distributor so how would I prevent this from turning as the distributor is pulled out.

I have never had that happen.

If the dizzy drive does not come out I use a torch or camera phone couple snaps or amrk one side with paint...then using a long bolt threat it in and pull it out..

Then revers is easy....
