Thanks Alpder, I can have an issue with mine when measuring advance timing. It flashes in two areas showing the timing mark twice. You can work out which one you need to go with but I'd rather it didn't do it. Been told by clever people it's some electrical interference from my car. Maybe this is the answer (substituting the no 1 lead). Daz.

I’ve had the 3568 Innova light for nearly 10 years and haven’t had any issues with it

The dwell reading is a diagnostic tool when used on electronic ignitions. Basic electronic ignition modules shouldn't vary the dwell so any variation is a sign of failure. The better ignition systems vary the dwell - increasing it as the RPM increases in order to saturate the coil but no more. If the dwell doesn't change correctly it identifies a failed module. They will often continue to run but very poorly so the dwell is used to identify a module failure.

I have the 5568 and haven't found any compatibility issues except for one time when I was doing a system with copper cored leads. It was intermittently doing random things but would work half the time.

What leads do you have? have you tried swapping out?
ive found even with new cheap leads it can cause scatter like behaviour as above even with a known good snap on or gunson strobe. Fitting a better known good set of leads has resolved this when I’ve ran into it at work.

You could be right Midas. It first did it with a set from Huddersfield mini spares. I now have a set of Power spark on. I had the car tuned by Mr Dodd so I haven't had any need to use the gun since, so not sure if these are any better. Fitting a new carb soon so might have to use it at some point. What would you be calling a good set? Daz.
