Hi everyone! Got to rebuild my classic mini engine, it is a 1275cc A+ engine from an Austin Allegro that has been bored out to +0.20, running standard gear set with 3.44 diferential

Engine is standard actually, as I know it does have the following:

- 1.3 rollers

- LCB exhaust manifold

- Maniflow exhaust

- MiniSpares inlet manifold

- HS4 carb running the stage one needle

Was running on a 123 distributor that stopped working and now running original distributor.

I would like to work out the best possible engine for my car, it is a 2025/2026 project so expect to hear from you before starting dissasembly.

Best regards,

First of all has-flow the head and fit 35.6 mm inlet valves. Increase the comp ratio to around 10.2:1 and thus use only 97 Ron petrol.
Fit a better cam. The Mini Spares Evo001 is an excellent road cam..
Fit a bigger carb or twin carbs on a gas-flowed inlet manifold. Ideally an HIF44 or twin HS4’s.
Change to an Aldon Yellow distributor.
You could bore it to the next size up and use the latest Mini Spares evolution pistons which have an offset dish of 6.3 cc. They are better than the old 21253 pistons.
Measure and calculate everything carefully and accurately.
Come back on here for more help and advice.

Thank you for the answer, I will start by pulling out the head and reviewing the valves I got in it as I don't remember the spec.

It seems also you are recommending lota of Mini Spares stuff, should I consider mailing them?

Best regards,
