Installation underway of AC Dodd RS+ into my 1070. Bit surprised to find dot to dot gives 98.5 degrees. I assumed a fresh cam like this to be closer to 106 degrees.
What have other people found?

What timing gears are you using? I've found the original ones come in loose around 110-112 and the Minispares steel ones come in tight at around what you have stated with any camshaft I've fitted over recent years.

Got the original steel duplex and a new IWIS chain. It is a snug fit as you say about the MS version. Certainly, no slack, so I can see that having an impact.

Yes I can happen when the billets are ground. The CNC machine has a degree offset feature and sometimes the operator will forget to change this between cams, and this a whole batch can be offset ground, I have seen a few batches like this over the years. Pop in a 7 degre cam key to retard the timing and away you go.
