So in the past i always used a minisport alloy inlet manifold from their stage one kit bought in 2000, its a really nice well made and excellent fit manifold. All these years later I thought better get something a bit newer, so i now use the minispares torquemaster version, which is somewhat the same but not as nice. Now because i have a race head with large ports i did some serious enlarging in the manifold to head ports so that they matched as well as the carb to manifold as that somewhat skewed to one side, no problem I enlarged that too and all is well.
I had my first ever rolling road at atspeed in rayleigh, essex and it managed 85hp, which is alright i suppose but.. i wanted a little more. (doesn't everyone). 1380cc, Timing is at 106.5degrees on a sw5 cam, mg metro distributor. Compression a bit high, Man at atspeed said it was a strong engine - but thats a job for another day.
What are these alloy manifolds like compared to the steel maniflow version? I have never seen one being used and wondering.. is that because they are so expensive or just not all that good? It would go nice with my maniflow large bore manifold already fitted (25 years ago!)
