what size dose this engine look like and would u but it for £100


This is what they told me about it.. (copy&pasted)

1275cc Austin Mini Engine. Very good condition. Only done 40,000 miles. Sold due to car being scrapped. Is a very fast engine.

Comes with:

Starter Motor

Carburettor 1¾

Radiator

Alternator

Distributor

Leads and Plugs

New Twin Drive Chain - single chain replaced for more reliability.

New Head Gasket

New Rocker Cover Gasket

Vales been re-seated in head for better results

May have been bored out slightly.

Looks like a 1275 A+ metro engine....

looks good for a ton. by the looks of it it is a 1275

could be bigger though no way to tell with out a bit of head off action

k cheers fellas! i was only doubtiing it being a 1275 little bcos it dont have that breather plate at the back.. if u no wha i meen


If it had been bored out bigger than 1275 would that meen its worth more or less or dose it depend on what bore its on?

breather plate on the back is just for small bore engines and large bore S engines.

bigger the bire the more the oney really but onl if it is in good nick.

at 100 quid it is worth it i reckon

Hang On A Minute, I Don't Get The Above. The Three 998cc Engines I've Gone Through So Far Have All Had A Duplex Crank - Cam Drive Chains As Standard...

This Question Is Open To 1275+ Owners, Does Your Engine Have Single Or Duplex Drive Chains?
I Would Have Thought That You Would Have, Or I Could Be Wrong...

Both 1275 engines I've stripped and built had a simplex chain drive as standard.

standard for all mini engines is a single chain drive 9apart from the S's maybe but not sure)

the ones you have had must have had them put on

its only about 5mins away from me aswell so i think ill take it!
