Any recommendations for a set of lowered shocks?

KYB gas-a-just, they have pretty much the longest stroke and look pretty standard (which is good for your annual "Pickerl-Termin"  ;D ).  https://www.minispar...st-kit-set-of-4
Do not forget to fit above mentioned front lower drop packing (particularly on a lowered Mini with neg. camber arms) and in the back fit a hydro rebound-bump stop 21A1517

Fittinge these (ajj3359-shock-absorber-top-brackets-for-lowered-suspension) isn't a bad idea either.

Hi again,

Why and where would i put this hydro rebound bump stop?

Behind the sprue of the trailing arm, in which the knuckle joint cup sits. You need to drill a hole into the subframe cross member and fit a countersunk riv nut, to which you would fasten the buffer.
It is only necessesary if your suspension cones come loose if fully unloaded, i.e. if your dampers do not sufficiently limit rebound.
Position 22 in below sketch

I'm using AGX shocks that are a tad shorter - mines lowered a small amount, not massively, using hi-lo on the front and rear. Also car has been fitted and set up with adjustable front and rear camber arms/brackets. Had the whole lot setup at Track Road and Race a while ago, probably need to replace the rubber cones by now and have it setup/checked again.

Also fitted the minispares sealed swivel joints about a year ago.

ok finally got time to do some experimenting wit the shocks.

i fitted lowered GAZ adjustables on the front ONLY (left the KYB gas a justs on)

Adjusted the shocks to click 15 out of 21 clicks (from fully anti clockwise) - took it for a drive

turns out this is a tad hard and we had a lot of bouncing and i presume *porpoising* between the 2 different shocks.

Adjusted to 10 clicks and this was better but not great and also with the harder setting the cornering / handling was better / tighter.

I have re-installed the KYB's for the moment.

Question -

Is there any point in trying to set up the car with different shocks back and front?

thanks for any comments or information - including if i am being an idiot >_<

I don't think the make is a problem as long as the range of adjustment is too soft at one end and too hard at the other. My take is start full soft and cautiously try it.Wind on four clicks and try again.Repeat until the sweet spot and the next four make it worse.Wind back one click at a time to achieve your desired feelings. This is only my thoughts, others may differ.Steve..
