Hi folks! I'm changing out the whole rear brake assembly (drums) on my mini, but have found that the copper brake hose is seized to the fastener so the hose is getting twisted up.

Easy conclusion is to just replace that final portion of brake line, but what are my options? I don't particularly want to get a copper replacement as I don't have any tools (or experience) to bend it with. Does anywhere sell braided flex ones for this purpose?

MiniSpares do a full length one to replace the copper and flex as one.

As for bending the one from the drum to the flexi, I did the ones on the Midas by hand.

That sounds great. I can't tell from their site which one that is. Could you give the part number please?

If you remove the old one, you can use it as a guide to bend the copper replacement pretty accurately.

Braided hose may well increase your insurance: mine is loaded because of it.

Good luck

Braided hose will increase your insurance and give you a slightly vague pedal

I have those braided banjo hoses & similar on my clutch with no issues. If anything I'd say the pedal is more positive as they expand less under pressure. The downsides are you can't clamp them & if the lining did get crimped & split you might not be able to tell by looking.

You can pick up a miniature pipe bender for less than the cost of one of those lines on fleabay - there's also someone flogging all the rear subby pipes in cunifer & brass for less.

...I also found out BINIs used a similar banjo hose, that could likely be made to fit.

Good news! Finished the full job of rear brake replacement with these pre formed brake lines and went totally smoothly. I can now actually bleed the brakes and stop properly! Well chuffed
