First time on the Forum, and saying hello. I drive a slightly unconventional Mini- a Status Cars Minus that I've owned for over 30 years. Having previously run several standard saloons as daily drivers through the 1980's, the chance of a non-rusting GRP kit car equivalent came up in 1991. I bought it from a local man who built it up from a 998cc donor from 1979, and (luckily for me) correctly reregistered it. Ran it as a daily driver for many years, during which time it was up-engined to 1275cc, and 12" wheels with disc brakes. After a period laid up, it had a full nut and bolt restoration as a lockdown/retirement project. It's return to the road coincided with the DVLA accepting it as a Vehicle of Historic Interest, so it's pretty economic to run. I do all my own work, apart from machining and paint spraying. Just waiting for the winter road salt season to pass, before getting out and about in 2026.

Welcome to the forum! That sounds like a great Mini and a lovely long-term project. Fair play for keeping it going all these years a GRP Minus is a rare sight. Enjoy getting it back out once the salt’s gone
