'Special Bolt' are UK bolt manufacturers of specialist fixings since 1966 and have a specialist team of staff with over 150 years of combined experience. Producing components in standard and bespoke sizes in various materials and manufacturing these in both metric and imperial sizes. Practical Classics magazine paid them a visit and said: "Their customer base ranges from the likes of JLR, Perkins, Cummins and Ford right down to Joe Bloggs in the street who wants some bolts for his 1949 Lancia that he can't get. They don't design things but can offer advice and do reverse engineering."

Special / Non-Standard Screws for Automotive Applications

We've recently been working with more projects involving non-standard screws and special fasteners for automotive components.

Unlike standard catalogue screws, these parts often have requirements such as unusual head profiles, special threads, shoulders, specific materials, surface treatments, or dimensions designed around a particular assembly. In many cases, the main challenge isn't simply producing the screw, but making sure it fits the mating component correctly and remains consistent in batch production.

HLC manufactures custom metal parts and non-standard fasteners according to customer drawings and samples. Automotive components are one of the applications we work with.

Thought this might be useful for anyone looking for custom or difficult-to-source fasteners:
